For a while we'd been getting feedback that learners who hadn't received a particular topic in ages were still appearing on the leaderboard for it. That's not a reflection of current performance.
So we've tightened the eligibility criteria for current leaderboards. From today, if a learner hasn't answered a question in the current month and they're not part of an active campaign for that topic, they won't appear in future leaderboards for that topic.
A couple of things worth knowing:
- If a learner is no longer eligible, they can still see their last leaderboard position on their Post-Question Dashboard. It doesn't disappear on them as that was a big achievement at the time.
- And if they're added back into a campaign covering that topic, eligibility is restored and they'll show up again on that leaderboard.
The goal is a leaderboard that reflects who's actually active right now but don't worry, users who have worked hard to achieve a rank in a topic will still be able to see this in their personal dashboard with the addition of a ‘Expired and Inactive Topics' section. It will just say the user is no longer receiving questions from this topic.
