As a content author or subject matter expert (SME), you have access to the Subject Matter Expert Board, which displays all topics in the platform. This guide walks you through the topic dashboard and how to navigate its key features.
Accessing Your Topics
When you are designated as a topic owner or content author, the dashboard gives you visibility into your managed topics through the My Topics tab. Here you can view all topics you own and manage.
Filtering and Viewing Topics
The dashboard includes several filtering options to help you organise your view:
- Active Topics and Expired Topics: Switch between active and expired topics using the toggle at the top of the page
- Filter by Type: Narrow your topics by category, including knowledge picks, assessment topics, survey topics, broadcast topics, and more
- My Topics Tab: If you are a topic owner, you will see your owned topics here. If you do not own any topics, this tab will not display content
Understanding the Topic Tile
Each topic appears as an individual tile on the dashboard. Here's what you'll find on each tile:
- Topic Name and Tags: Display the topic title and relevant tags at the top
- Highlights and Statistics: Shows the number of questions in the topic, feedback received, and overall engagement
- Performance Metrics: Displays performance data from the last four months using a red-amber-green rating system to indicate success or accuracy
Topic Management Tools
At the bottom of each topic tile, you'll find four icons that provide quick access to key functions:
Overview: User Agnostic data of a topic and review cycle
Feedback: Access feedback data for your topic
Performance: Review performance metrics
Topic Management: Open the admin portal to edit and update your topic
Working with Feedback
In the Feedback section, you can identify and prioritise questions based on user feedback. The dashboard highlights questions with high positive feedback rates and very low feedback rates, allowing you to focus on areas that need attention or improvement.
Editing and Updating Topics
When you click the Topic Management icon, you'll be taken directly to the admin portal where you can:
- Update topic content and structure
- Review individual questions and answers
- Correct incorrect answers or update topic information
- Make other necessary changes to maintain content accuracy
Review Cycles
At the top of the dashboard, you'll see the Review Cycle indicator. This shows whether your topic is currently in a review period and displays the date it was last updated. Topics are reviewed five times annually, so plan your updates accordingly to ensure your content remains current and accurate.
