This FAQ explains how to use Cognexo as a learner, covering registration, answering questions via email, Teams, or mobile app, and managing streaks and leave. It details levels, adaptive scoring, and personalized ranks. It also addresses repeated questions, privacy, and troubleshooting for Teams and password issues. 

Getting started

How do I register from the welcome email?

Open the welcome email, click the registration link,, thats it. no password. Once your account is set up, you'll recieve your first questions and then questions will start arriving from the next working day.

I did not receive my welcome email. What should I do?

First, check your spam or junk folder. If you still cannot find it, ask your admin to resend the welcome email.

How do I answer questions?

You can answer questions by email, in Microsoft Teams, or in the mobile app. Click the answer you think is correct to submit it. You will get immediate feedback, and it usually takes less than 2 minutes a day.

 

Streaks

What is a streak?

A streak is the number of consecutive days you answer questions. If you miss a day, your streak resets.

What happens to my streak if I am on leave?

If your leave is logged in Cognexo, your questions are paused and your streak is protected. If leave is not logged, questions will continue to arrive as normal.

Can my streak be restored if I lose it?

No. Streaks cannot be restored however admins can recover them in special circumstances. If it resets, you will need to start again from scratch if you miss content. 

How do I add or remove leave?

Go to the Holidays section on the right-hand side of Cognexo, click Manage, select your dates, and click Save. An aeroplane icon confirms that leave has been added. You can remove leave from the same section, and you can add it in advance.

 

Levels and scoring

What are the Cognexo levels?

Cognexo has four levels: Learner, Improver, Expert, and Master. Each level is split into 10 ranks, and your progress is tracked separately for each topic.

How does scoring work?

Scoring is adaptive. Correct answers to harder questions score more, while missed easy questions can reduce your score more. Questions are matched to your level so the challenge stays appropriate.

Why do my ranks differ from my colleagues' ranks?

Ranks are personalised, so they are not expected to match your colleagues'. Different question difficulty and different learning paths mean each learner can progress differently.

I think a wrong answer was marked incorrect. What should I do?

For multi-answer questions, all correct answers must be selected. If you still believe the answer was marked incorrectly, you can leave feedback on the question, that goes to your admin.

 

General

How many questions will I get each day?

The number of questions depends on your organisation's configuration and your learning backlog. Most learners receive 1 to 4 questions per working day. You will not receive questions on bank holidays or when logged leave is active.

Why do I keep seeing repeated questions?

Repeated questions are part of spaced repetition. This helps reinforce recall over time, and topics with fewer questions may repeat more often.

Is my performance being used to monitor me?

Cognexo data is used to support development, not to monitor you. It can help identify knowledge gaps, and your manager may use it as part of coaching conversations.

I forgot to log my leave. What happens now?

Questions will continue to arrive, and a backlog may build up while you are away. When you return, you may receive the missed questions. Ask your manager to suspend your account if needed in an emergency, and log future leave in the Holidays section.
