This article explains the Content Approval Process for question edits. Admin users can suggest edits to live questions, saving changes as drafts before submitting for approval. Topic owners review drafts, compare edits to originals, and either accept and activate or reject changes with feedback.
- Suggesting Question Edits
| An admin user with access to questions can make edits to a live question. Their edited version of a question can then stay in draft form while it awaits approval by the topic owner. |
To get started, click on Topics and Questions
Scroll down the list of active topics and click on the required topic
Click on Questions
Find the question that you want and press Suggest Edit
This takes you to the Question Editor page where any part of the question can be changed:
From the question example above, let’s imagine that the NHS has recently updated its advice on weekly exercise and you want to amend the correct answer option, explanation and NHS website hyperlink.
You can change all these parts in the Question Editor page.
As you can see, the correct answer option has been amended from 150 and 75 to 175 and 100 (the other wrong answer options can also be changed)
The Explanation below has also been changed to reflect the new correct answer and the new web address has been added
Once the amendments have been made, click on Save Changes
Go back to the top of the page and click on Submit for Approval
If you want to work further on a question before you Submit for Approval, the question will stay in Draft and give you the option to make more changes by selecting Review Draft:
2. Approving Question Edits

You can see all the questions currently awaiting approval by clicking on Draft Questions:
Alternatively, to find the questions awaiting approval in a topic, click on Questions and then Draft
Locate the question that you want to check and click on Review Draft
Approving Question changes is then all done in the Question Sign Off Workflow section of Question Editor
If you click on Compare to Original, the below screen will pop up, allowing you to see at-a-glance what changes have been made to the new draft
If you click on Accept in the Question Sign-Off Workflow, you will then be given the option to Activate Question
If you click on Reject in the Question Sign-Off Workflow, you will then see this pop-up
Add a reason for not accepting the draft changes and click Reject
