The platform includes several different types of questions. Using a mix of these formats helps keep users engaged and supports better knowledge retention, as it encourages more interaction with the tool. This article explores each question type available in Cognexo in more detail.
| singleAnswer | singleAnswer questions ask learners to select one correct option from a list of possible answers. This format is designed to ensure they identify the most appropriate choice from those provided. |
| multipleAnswer | multipleAnswer questions ask learners to choose a set number of correct options from a list. They are told how many answers to select and must pick exactly that number to get the question right. |
| allWhichApply | allWhichApply questions let learners choose one or more answers from a list of options. Users are not told how many options are correct, so to get the question right, they need to select all of the answer options provided when using this format. |
| Ordered Answer Questions | Learners are provided with a set of answer options that they must arrange in the correct sequence to answer the question correctly. |
| Match Answer Questions | Learners are presented with two columns of related information and must correctly match items from the left column to their corresponding pairs on the right. This question type tests their ability to recognise relationships between concepts, requiring them to make accurate connections based on their understanding. |
| Image Map Questions | Image map questions allow you to incorporate visuals into the platform. Learners are shown an image and must identify the correct area by clicking on it, based on the prompt provided in the question. |
Question Schedule Type
A Question Schedule type determines which set of questions is delivered to users and how that set is applied. Due to this being very flexible across all topics and campaigns, you are able to manage and adjust question delivery wherever needed.
| Core Questions | Core questions are scheduled questions that users receive regularly according to a set frequency. For example, if a user receives two core questions daily, these questions are drawn from a predefined pool of core topics. This pool can contain multiple topics and questions, ensuring a diverse learning experience. |
| Additional Questions | Additional questions supplement core questions by adding extra content to the user's daily allocation. For instance, if two core questions are scheduled, adding an additional question results in three questions being delivered—two from the core pool and one from the additional pool. |
| Mandatory Questions | Mandatory questions take precedence over both core and additional questions. When a mandatory question is scheduled, it replaces any other questions scheduled for that user on that day. For example, if a user typically receives two core questions and one additional question daily, scheduling three mandatory questions would deliver only those three mandatory questions, overriding any other scheduled content. |
